 You made it to the other side of the river and go to work setting the explosives and stringing the fuse line. There is a bubbling and boiling at the river and the creature raises it's ugly and bloody head. No doubt he's very angry at having missed a meal and having it's nose cut. Hurry up and light the fuse!
You fool, the matches are all wet! You pick up two rocks and start striking them together to try to get a spark. The creature hears you and comes out of the river.
