You go down the slimy steps and are overcome by a horrible stench. At the bottom of the steps you see these are catacombs. The dead are layed out one after one. Some have fallen onto the ground. To your horror some appear EATEN!  Then you see something moving in a dark corner. You extend your hand so the lamplight will reach that area. Something grabs your leg and pulls you to the ground. The lamp rolls out of your hand and you see the gruesome ghoul.
Of course it feasts on human flesh, alive or dead -- what did you expect by coming down here? Treasure?  Go back to cemetery gates.
