"Please, I implore you, do not run away from me. My name is Lily Rose, but everyone called me Lily. Have pity on my poor lost soul, I have been in the cold, wet darkness for so long and yearn to be set free from this hellish nothingness. There is no rest or peace in my death, just pain, cold, and sadness. My family never learned of my fate, there was no body to mourn over or bury."

"On my last day at this boarding house I discovered the fate of the missing housemaid who worked at the Inn. She was murdered in this room, drowned in the bathtub by Miss Grul."

"You have my journal in your possession so you may have read of my suspicions of Miss Grul. This woman is pure evil and she toyed with me like a cat would a mouse. She knew I had entered areas of her house that were forbidden and that I had found evidence of her other murderous acts. She confronted me about my trespass and as I tried to run from her, she ripped my apron from me and the evidence fell to the floor."

"Thus began my doom. I ran from her and across the hall out the backdoor of the boarding house. In my fright I lost my bearings and ran blindly into the marshes. It was late afternoon and a terrible storm was over Salems Marsh. In my panic I quickly became lost but knew Miss Grul was close behind me. The pelting rain and winds stung my eyes and I fell in the marsh. I struggled to regain my footing but the more I fought the faster the muck sucked me down. I grabbed any piece of wood or vine but nothing would stop me from the green sloggy abyss."

"It took sometime before the bog finally swallowed me up, and as I was dragged down up to my neck Miss Grul stood over me, laughing and making fun of my pleas for mercy. And then the cold darkness suffocated me, Miss Grul's horrible cackle echoing in my ears."

"I am trapped here, in Dark Time - forgotten. I am doomed to wander Salems Marsh searching for my bones. There is no escape."

"This Purgatory will never end for me. There is one small thing you could do for me to endure this endless cold and dark. During the struggle with Miss Grul, she tore my apron from me. The force of that also ripped away my necklace that held my locket. Inside that locket was a picture of my family. If I could only have that one little but so very precious item back, it would give me so much comfort."

"Miss Grul hid it very well, it is locked away in such a secret place, yet I know it is hidden in plain sight. It torments me! Please, I implore you - in your journey through this haunted place to be vigilant and find my locket."

Poor Lily Rose, she was so close to being free from Salems Marsh and it's horrors. Perhaps you will stumble upon the very well hidden secret room that Miss Grul has hidden Lily's locket.

Go back to hallway.
