To escape the sinister spirits in the library you escape by entering the bookcase door. This room hides a spiral staircase with steps leading downward so deep they are lost in the shadows. The secret bookcase door slams violently behind you. The ancient lock breaks and you are unable to open the door. You are trapped and the long trek into the unknown begins.

Reaching the bottom reveals a dank and musty room. A rickety wooden door is on the far wall. A writing desk is the only furniture in this room and a journal sits upon it. Without warning the chair by the desk moves as if commanding you to sit and read the pages. From other notes you at once recognize the handwriting as Miss Gruls. How terrible are the secrets that she felt they had to be so well hidden?
