Saying "no" to the Soul Broker was a wise decision, although you have made him very angry. As you leave his office you hear him cursing. In his rage the Soul Broker slaps his assistant sending it's skull rattling across the floor. If you would have said yes he would have taken your soul. He would have filtered it in The Hourglass keeping only the best of it. The rest is turned to sand and discarded in the Desert of Sand Shadows.
The Crossroads lead you to another gateway. The area surrounding you is a bog and you must be careful not to fall from the stepping stones. If this water touches you it will burn the flesh away.
Ahead of you are three distinct landmarks. Two mountains higher than the rest and a house set high upon a steep hill. And then there is the sound - ever since entering Purgatory you have been aware of it. Sound waves are carried differently here then in the mortal world. Perhaps the answer to the strange harmonic vibrations can be found behind this gateway. It's best to keep moving. The Crossroads lead you along the cliffs.
