 As soon as you place your feet on the spot that The Crossroads part you hear the shout of "HELLO". The shouts come from two directions. On one of The Crossroad paths there is a dog. At the other path is a girl.
The dog is the first to speak. "HEY YOU. I'm speaking at you. Of course I can talk. All of us animals can, even in the mortal world. You humans just never listen to us. And you never really open your minds and SEE. You humans just don't tune into anything REALLY good. Like tummy rubs. Hey, can you come over here and give me one. I haven't had a good "mortal" tummy rub for a long time. I'm clean too. See I just took a bath. Come on over here and rub my tummy." Then the girl speaks to you. She is holding a book. "Can you help me? Please? I'm sorry to disturb you but I don't know what else to do. I've been here such a long time. I can't find my mother and I want to finish my book. She used to read with me and help me with the words I can't figure out. If I can finish my book like I promised, then I'll be able to pass thru the fence at the Sanctuary. Please come over here.
