You decide to wait a bit longer before making any quick moves. The lock is impossible to pick with the knife, but at least your hands and feet are free. A few other captives now whisper more details to you. It seems the cannibals consider fresh human flesh a delicacy and keep captives alive as long as possible. The details are beyond imagination and horror. Being eaten alive by zombies is more humane than what these human monsters do. These cannibals, roast, bake, stew and fry their victims. The captives also tell you that the other cannibals are out raiding and hunting down human survivors. The one here now is the Meat Master, the one responsible for butchering, keeping captives alive, and the cooking. The Meat Master was probably a surgeon before the zombie plague because he's a master at keeping victims alive as they go thru multiple amputations over time. The Meat Master will be making another trip upstairs to make sure all the captives bindings are secure. Several hours pass and the cannibal returns and begins checking captives. You lay in your cage and play dead. As the cannibal opens the cage to check on your condition you kick the cage door hard putting him off balance. He falls back into a wall with an unsprung bear trap hanging from it. It closes on him upon impact. In the distance you hear vehicles and car doors slamming. The cannibals have returned.
