Even though it's imperative you get to the town, the highway won't be safe. The dead man and his truck have no doubt been found, and whether zombies, mauraders or cannibals find it first there is sure to be the stench of death surrounding the area soon enough. It's best to wait here and scout ahead before dawn. You offer the dog a bit more food and hope that when you wake up the dog will still be there. You drift off to sleep. You dream of a growling dog, only it's not a dream. The dog is in high alert her fur standing straight up on her back. Something very bad is near. Then you hear the undeniable shriek of a zombie. Quickly you turn to run to the car only to come face to face with a zombie. In a flash the dog pounces on the ghoul and rips it's rotting head off, giving you time to open the car door and get the dog and yourself out of there. You head down the road taking out a few stumbling zombies along the way. Rotting zombie parts fly thru the air as the car hits them. Soon the gravel road will end and you'll have to go back on the highway. It's not quite dawn yet and you need to make the decision whether to drive into town or leave the car and walk.
