The cabin is well stocked and as secure as the last safehouse with it's own source of power. You call out but get no answer. Is the scientist here you wonder? Has this search also ended up with nothing? From another room in the cabin you hear the dog whine. Inside the room the dog is scratching at a steel reinforced door. This must be the scientists laboratory he wrote about in his journal. He wrote he was on a verge of a breakthrough in controlling the zombie plague. You open the lock with the combination he left in the journal. The heavy steel door slowly swings open to reveal a dimly lighted basement. You can hear the hum and whir of machinery. As you reach the bottom of the stairs you hear the dog whine again. She won't come down the stairs. Suddenly the power goes out and you're in the dark.
